Liturgical Dishes

Notre-Dame Cathedral, Strasbourg, 2015

This liturgical tableware set was designed in 2015 to commemorate the millennium of Strasbourg Cathedral. The project emphasizes the unfolding of objects, their handling, and the scenography they create. The chalice, with its wide and open design, encourages communal intinction among priests. The host-serving dishes are initially displayed as a single entity on the altar. As the priests partake in the ritual, they separate the set into ten individual cups, visually symbolizing the miracle of the multiplication of the loaves. Crafted from spun copper and pink Vosges sandstone, the ensemble reflects both tradition and innovation in liturgical design.
